Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr: One Contract Demand for April 26 Revealed

Benn and Hearn Talk Strategy

When looking ahead to the main event on April 26, and thinking about the strategies of both fighters, Eubank will surely look to keep the fight on the outside and use his jab. Benn will be eager to close that distance and make Eubank uncomfortable.

Benn will need to be wary when closing the distance so that he doesn’t walk onto an uppercut from Eubank. “The Destroyer” when applying pressure needs to work the body of Eubank, especially early on in the fight.

One key component for these suspected tactics from Benn is the size of the ring and Team Benn got what they asked for: “The only thing I asked for in my contract was an 18-foot ring,” Benn revealed to Sky Sports.

This seemingly plays into Benn’s hands and will force Eubank to stand and trade, maybe more than he would like.

“Coming in there to steamroll him? Of course I am. You think I’m coming in there to muck about?” Benn said. “That’s just how I am.

“If you think you’re faster than me, prove it. You think you’re stronger than me, prove it. You think you’re smarter than me, prove it,” he added. “Come meet me in the middle.”

Eddie Hearn also spoke on the small ring: “It’ll be a nice small ring to have a tear-up in,” Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports. “It might suit Eubank.

“He may decide to stand and have a shootout.”

This fight could ignite early if Benn can close the distance, and despite the small ring seemingly benefitting Benn, he needs to be wary of walking on to a big punch from Eubank, who will look to time his shots to perfection.
