Jaron “Boots” Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs, 1 NC) and Jesse “Bam” Rodríguez (20-0, 13 KOs) will soon be fighting on the same card.

Their respective bouts take place on a Matchroom Boxing card at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. Boxing fans around the world can catch the action live on DAZN. Ennis will be making a defence of his IBF welterweight title in a rematch against Karen Chukhadzhian (24-2, 13 KOs). Rodríguez defends his WBC super flyweight title against Pedro Guevara (42-4-1, 22 KOs).

All four men spoke at a press conference on November 9 ahead of their clashes. Below is some of what they said.

Jaron Ennis

“I ain’t gonna lie,” said Ennis. “He getting the belt on Saturday. We gonna put on a show, man. We going to have some fun and I don’t know if he lying or not [about not running in the ring]. It don’t matter what he do. I’m trying to tell you, it’s not the same you know. We going to put on a show. I’m going to make a big statement on Saturday night. We going to have some fun. We going to party.”

Karen Chukhadzhian

Definitely I’m ready,” said Chukhadzhian. “This two years we work so hard. I’m become better and better from day to day and I’m going to show my changes to people.”

Jesse Rodríguez

“When the fight was brought up to me I knew right away that this was a huge opportunity for him,” said Rodríguez. “A huge opportunity to change his whole life and I made sure every day I train my ass off to make sure that doesn’t happen because just as fast as I got this, I can lose it. So, I’m humble enough to know that he’s coming with everything, but, come Saturday night I’m going to go out there and put on another show.”

Pedro Guevara

“I really prepared for this bout,” said Guevara. “I was waiting for this [for] a lot of time, I can talk about months, I talk about years. So, I prepare physically and mentally very well for this bout. I know that Jesse “Bam” Rodríguez is a great fighter. He’s the best in the category, in the division and we want to be an [honourable] opponent for him. So, thank you for this bout. Let’s do it, man. You and me this Saturday. You’re going to watch a great fight between two great men.”

Fight Predictions

The last time they fought, Ennis won every single round against Chukhadzhian. It is hard to picture a less dominant performance than that from “Boots” the second time around. On the one hand, Chukhadzhian spoke about the improvements he has made and how he will be better in the rematch. On the other hand, Ennis has vowed a more dominant performance. Expect a knockout win from Ennis somewhere during the middle rounds before he sets his sights on better competition in 2025.

Some expected Juan Francisco Estrada to enforce his rematch clause after he got stopped by Rodríguez. However, Estrada instead chose to move up to bantamweight. As a result, “Bam” now takes on Guevara. Fight fans can expect fireworks in this clash for as long as it lasts. However, expect the talented Rodríguez to eventually get a stoppage win somewhere in the middle rounds.
