Jake Paul makes shocking revelation about his boxing future

On December 19, 2025, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul headlined a Most Valuable Promotions fight card, live on Netflix. The boxing world stopped to tune in to see if The Problem Child could shock the world. Joshua was too powerful for Paul and stopped him in the sixth round. Paul has appeared on the Ariel Helwani Show, revealing a shocking update about his boxing future.

Jake Paul loses to Anthony Joshua

Paul was applauded by many for his bravery in facing Joshua. Yes, the financial reward was substantial, but Joshua is a huge puncher. Paul spent much of the fight in survival mode, evading AJ, who struggled to time his punches.

Joshua ended up scoring four knockdowns before the referee waved the fight off in round six. The brutality of the knockout became clear after the bout, with news that Paul suffered a double broken jaw.

Paul was full of pride after the fight and in interviews did speak about returning soon, but those plans appear in doubt.

Jake Paul casts doubt on his boxing future

Discussing his recovery from the AJ fight and plans for the future, Paul shockingly revealed to Helwani that he may never fight again:

“I’m getting some new scans in a couple of days on the jaw to get an update on the healing process.

“We’ll see what my doctors say and if I can even fight again. That is definitely within the realm of possibility.

“It does feel a lot better as the weeks and time go by.

“I think it just depends on how the bone heals. There’s also a tooth missing here, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to get some sort of implant.

“We just have to wait and figure out what the smartest thing is for me.”
