Liam Cameron vs Ben Whittaker 2: Cameron Reveals Frustration
Whittaker (8-0-1, 5 KOs) and Cameron (23-6-1, 10 KOs) originally met on October 12, 2024, in Riyadh where a dogged Cameron began to take over the fight, when near the end of the fifth round while in a clinch, both fighters toppled over the top rope, landing awkwardly with Whittaker unable to fight on and a technical draw declared.
Negotiations for a rematch between BOXXER and Queensberry have not been easy and it appears everything has still not been plain sailing, as revealed by Cameron via his X account: “Boxxer have my terms to accept to change the fight to 10 rounds but they are refusing to send me a contract to vary the deal and are trying to suggest they can change the rounds without a contract. Going into fight week not knowing how many rounds I’m fighting is a joke for me and for my opponent. As I post this it’s still a 12 round fight.”
In fight week for both fighters to be unsure of how many rounds this bout will be is staggering and surely it will be fixed by by April 20, but it begs the question, how have we got to this point?
