On Saturday, April 27, we saw Peter McGrail (9-1, 5 KOs) dominate March Leach (18-4-1, 4 KOs) in the main event of the Matchroom Boxing NXTGEN card, live on DAZN at the Exhibition Centre in Liverpool, England. The judges awarded the Liverpudlian a unanimous decision victory, with the scorecards reading 100-90 and 99-91 x2. Peter McGrail Regained Some Confidence
This was a pivotal moment in the career of Peter McGrail as he looked to return to winning ways – following his shock fifth-round KO loss against Ja’Rico O’Quinn. The first few rounds saw the Liverpudlian look nervous, but once he got comfortable, he seemingly regained his confidence and let his hands go to great effect. He varied his shots impressively and took a couple of good shots from Leach, which will have undoubtedly helped rebuild the confidence of the Liverpool fighter.
Junaid Boston Is Ready for the Next Step
Junaid Bostan (9-0, 7 KOs) came through a difficult moment in his last fight against Gordie Russ II before maintaining his 100% record. This time, the Rotherham fighter took on Jack Martin (9-2, 4 KOs) and delivered an accomplished professional performance, which saw him dominate from the first bell, winning by eighth-round TKO to win the Commonwealth silver super welterweight title.

“Star Boy” is highly regarded, and rightly so. He moves extremely well and varies his attacks impressively, indicating the 22-year-old is ready for the next step.
Hamza Uddin Is a Superstar in the Making
Highly decorated amateur flyweight sensation Hamza Uddin made his professional debut, defeating Santiago San Eusebio by third-round TKO. He showcased an impressive arsenal of punches and revealed why he is so highly- regarded by Matchroom – and his manager Sam Jones. The eight-time national champion gave us a glimpse into his talent, and I for one cannot wait to see what the future has in store for the Walsall native, who is a potential superstar in the making.
Matchroom Has a Deep Roster
These events indicate how stacked the Matchroom roster is – and this event was no different. From before the bell to the main card, the action was impressive. The talent at Matchroom throughout the various weight classes is excellent, and the future NXTGEN cards will seemingly be just as impressive. These talents must get the exposure they deserve, and through DAZN, this is made a reality.
Beatriz Ferriera Is a Big Problem
Beatriz “The Beast” Ferreira impressed once again, winning the IBF World Lightweight title against Yanina del Carmen Lescano, with the referee halting the contest in round six due to a nasty cut sustained by Lescano. The judge’s scorecards at the time of the stoppage read 59-55 x 2 and 58-55.

Despite how the bout ended, it seemed only a matter of time before “The Beast” got the verdict as she began to wear down her opponent with her constant pressure and ferocious punches. Attention now turns to the 2024 Olympics for the Brazilian fighter. Her style and punch volume make her a big problem for any opponent. Unification fights are on the horizon for Ferreira.
