Big Gamble For Anthony Joshua As He Returns Against Franklin

April is another big month for Anthony Joshua. It’s a massive gamble for the former world heavyweight champion as he takes on Jermaine Franklin on April 1. He’d be a fool to lose this important bout.

One slip up and his future plans will be very different indeed. This fight is one that will be exciting to bet on because in boxing it’s often difficult to predict what might happens next, especially when heavyweights are involved.

If Anthony Joshua wants to become a three-time world champion, he simply cannot lose to Jermaine Franklin. Two consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk have seen him back as a challenger rather than a champion.

If wanting to place a bet on boxing it’s important to choose the right bookmaker. Make sure you register with one that has a good welcome offer and lots of other promotions.

You will of course also want to join a site that offers plenty of opportunities to bet on boxing at highly competitive odds. Also, choose one with lots of markets such as which round the fight will end in and whether a fight will be won inside the distance or on points.

You’ll have most likely seen the Ray Winstone adverts for bet365. There’s an excellent bet365 open account offer available and for more information go to Sportytrader and read all about this bonus and everything else that bet365 has to offer.

There are so many questions that Anthony Joshua has to answer as he bids to make it back to the top of the heavyweight division. Don’t think we have forgotten his bizarre behaviour after his second loss to Usyk. Then there’s the changes in his coaching team, can they lead to success or more confusion?

If Joshua does beat Franklin, then it looks like a rematch (he does love a return contest) against Dillian Whye in the summer. After that, if he keeps winning it’s more likely he’ll take on either Deontay Wilder or Andy Ruiz Jr and who knows, that could be a world title bout with there always being the possibility of one or more of the titles being declared vacant. If he loses a third consecutive fight, then he’ll have so much work to do to get back into title contention.

Eddie Hearn believes Joshua can beat Franklin in three rounds. Now that’s a dangerous comment to make because what if Joshua wins but ends up going a lot further than three rounds? Surely if that happens, Hearn has to say it was a disappointing performance.

Franklin comes into this fight fresh from his first professional defeat. He lost a 12-round points decision to Dillian Whyte, though many observers thought that the American had won the fight. It seems whoever wins this fight will be going into a rematch with Whyte.

This may be a non-title fight (his first since 2015) but it’s so important for Joshua. He has to win this fight to try and get some momentum back into his career. Franklin is a good opponent for him and one judge did say he drew with Whyte.

Should you be betting on a Joshua knockout or a points decision? Franklin has never been stopped so that would give Joshua something to boast about the next time he sees Whyte. This does promise to be a fascinating bout and one that’ll be great to bet on.
