Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua: Lennox Lewis breaks it down
It’s been a decade in the making, but Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua moved a significant step closer, with both meeting at a launch press conference for a planned December 11 showdown at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. At the launch presser, Lennox Lewis worked on the broadcast team, where he broke down the WBA super heavyweight title clash.
Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Finally Set for December 11 Shoot Out
Fury (36-2-1, 25 KOs) has beaten Arslanbek Makhmudov and Mariusz Wach in 2025. Earlier, “The Gypsy King” lost back-to-back fights against Oleksandr Usyk. His best career wins came against Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder.
Joshua (30-4, 27 KOs) won four consecutive fights before being blown away by Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium. Joshua has won twice since the Dubois loss, including a second-round knockout win over Kristian Prenga.
Lennox Lewis breaks down Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua
Looking ahead to Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua on December 11, Lewis said:
“Listen, I don’t underestimate what Tyson Fury says.”
“When he says something, he usually does it, but I don’t think he’s going to be standing in one position with Anthony Joshua. Joshua’s got too much power to stand there and withstand the punch. So he’s going to be moving,” added Lewis.
Speaking on the broadcast at the launch presser, Lewis would not commit to naming a winner, but did say:
“To me, the most accurate puncher out of the both of them,” Lewis said.
“Tyson Fury is an accurate puncher. AJ throws a great one-two – a great one-two – he’s caught many people with the one-two, and that’s the most accurate combination to me.”

The Big Fight Weekend verdict
The launch presser was largely respectful, with both discussing a previous spar session between them. Fury made it clear he’s going for the knockout, but it remains to be seen how much each has left.
Fury should keep it long, use his jab and move his feet to frustrate Joshua. AJ is a master of the one-two, and if he can land flush on Fury’s chin, that could be the fight-ending shot.
The atmosphere on December 11 has been a decade in the making, but finally we look set to see these two titans of British boxing fight.
We are expecting Fury to get the unanimous decision win, but if he’s not sharper than he was against Wach, Joshua is more than capable of landing that punch to change the direction of the bout.
