Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is a fight that has been rumoured for a decade, with the two appearing closer than ever to meeting in the ring, in what would be the biggest match-up in British boxing history. Who would promote the event has been a hot topic of conversation recently, with Eddie Hearn and Dana White going back and forth, speaking to various members of the boxing media. Spencer Brown of Goldstar Promotions, who promoted Fury vs Makhmudov, has spoken to The Stomping Ground, clarifying the current promotional situation for Tyson Fury.

Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua

Turki Alalshikh has confirmed we can expect to see Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua on a date and at a venue to be confirmed. Wembley has been mentioned, but a slew of rumours for the U.S. have surfaced in recent days, with no official word on the venue and date likely until Joshua defeats Kristian Prenga on July 25, and Tyson Fury wins on August 1 against an opponent yet to be named.

Eddie Hearn and Dana White have both publicly had their say on who will and who can promote Fury vs Joshua, with both dismissing what the other says.

Another twist in this tale came at the recent UFC White House show, where Tyson Fury was in attendance and said in an interview with UFC broadcaster Jon Anik: “I think I’m going to let Dana do the speaking, but it is a massive, massive announcement.”

When asked if White would be involved in the promotion of his proposed fight against Joshua, The Gypsy King said: “100% potential, yes.”

Spencer Brown clarifies current Tyson Fury promotional situation

Speaking to The Stomping Ground, Brown clarified the current promotional situation of Tyson Fury:

“He (Turki Alalshikh) will promote Tyson Fury until the end of his career with Frank Warren. That will be it. And all this he’s signed for Zuffa, he ain’t signed anything for Zuffa.

“I’m not saying that in later years, anything can happen. Anything can. We’ve not signed anything. We’re still at the same place, the same time. He’s having his fight on the 1st of August. And he will be having it, I’m sure, with his promoter Frank Warren, and that will all be done through Turki Alalshikh,” said Brown.
