Tyler Denny Defends European Title Against Felix Cash – Big Fight Weekend Prediction

European honours will be at stake when Felix Cash (16-0, 10 KOs) and Tyler Denny (18-2-3, 1 KO) face each other on Saturday.

The two fighters headline a Matchroom Boxing card at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham, England. Fight fans around the world can catch the action live on DAZN. Denny will be making the first defence of his European middleweight title, a belt he won after defeating Matteo Signani in November last year.

Both men spoke at a press conference on Thursday ahead of their June 22 clash. Below is some of what they had to say.

Press Conference Quotes

Denny

“Absolutely buzzing for this,” said Denny. It’s a bit of a shame really because I’ve been around Felix for a few days andhe seems like an alright character and he’s got a nice little story going for him, he’s been out of the ring. He’s going to do all that for nothing because he’s going to get smashed on Saturday. I feel bad for him, but this is the game we’re in.”

“Fair play to him. He’s got some catching up to do because at the time when he took Denzel Bentley out, he was meant to go on to World titles by now.”

Cash

I‘m very excited,” said Cash.Very excited to be back in the ring on Saturday. I’ve really been enjoying fight week, soaking it all in. I’d like to say thank you to you Eddie [Hearn] and Matchroom for sticking there with me when I’ve been out of the ring 18 months and giving me the opportunity for the European title…But like I say, I’m looking forward now to Saturday night and get my hands on that European title and making up for lost time. Like you [Hearn] said, the middleweight division is opening up and [looking to] get a shot at the world title.”

Fight Prediction

Cash has been out of the ring for 18 months and did not look particularly good in his two fights prior to that layoff. After knocking out Bentley, it did seem like he was not far from challenging for world titles. Now, however, he gets the chance to get back on track against European champion Denny. Given the layoff and his last two performances, it feels a bit difficult to see Cash winning this. Denny has been active and is comfortable going the full distance. Expect the reigning European champion to win a unanimous decision.
