Liam Davies recent form
Since losing his IBO super bantamweight world title to Shabaz Masoud, Davies (18-1, 9 KOs) made the move to featherweight, where he has won both fights, including an impressive stoppage win against the normally durable Francesco Grandelli, stopping him in round six, in what was a highly impressive performance from the Donnington fighter.
Nathaniel Collins recent form
Collins (17-1-1, 8 KOs) suffered a defeat last time out, against the tough Spaniard Cristobal Lorente, whom he drew with six months prior to that. Before that, the Scot produced a career-best performance, demolishing Lee McGregor in four rounds. Collins has also fought Grandelli, defeating the Italian by unanimous decision in 2024.
Liam Davies vs Nathaniel Collins prediction
Davies is at his best when able to force the pace against opponents. His punch accuracy is impressive, and what stood out most was his recent win against Grandelli. He needs to use his jab, and the only fight he’s lost was a bout when Masoud didn’t allow him to dictate the tempo. Davies is a good fighter who picks his punches well.
Collins proved how good he was against McGregor, and how tough he was in the first fight vs Lorente. When he’s in his groove, he’s a sharp puncher, capable of fighting at a high tempo for 12 rounds.
Davies will look to control the distance with his reach advantage, while Collins will look to close the distance and mix it up in the pocket with Davies. This has all the makings of a good scrap, and we are backing Davies to retain his European title on the scorecards.
