Bad Blood Showdown: Willy Hutchinson vs. Craig Richards in Riyadh – Fight Predictions and Grand Arrivals Highlights

With just days to go before they clash in the ring, it is clear that there is bad blood between Willy Hutchinson (17-1, 13 KOs) and Craig Richards (18-3-1, 11 KOs).

The two meet in the opener of a card that pits five Matchroom Boxing fighters against five from Queensberry Promotions. Fight fans can catch the action live as a PPV on DAZN. Those in the United Kingdom can also purchase it from TNT Sports, discovery+, Sky, EE TV and Prime Video.

Queensberry vs. Matchroom 5v5 will take place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is part of Riyadh Season, a state-funded entertainment and sports festival. The Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority is responsible for its organization.

Ahead of their June 1 fight, Richards and Hutchinson spoke at an event in Riyadh to promote the bout. Below is what they had to say.

Willy Hutchinson and Craig Richards Look to Settle Bad Blood

Richards

“I feel like Willy Hutchinson is not on my level,” said Richards. “I have to separate the levels come Saturday night and show I belong on the top level and separate the difference between me and him.”

Hutchinson

“I’m focused, I’m looking forward to getting in there on Saturday night and knocking this feller unconscious,”said Hutchinson. “He’s been saying a bit too much for my liking. I’m just ready to put this man asleep and all these clowns that keep talking a load of rubbish. They don’t know boxing. I’m gonna sleep this fella.”

Fight Prediction

This bout is evenly matched. It does feel, however, that it will all come down to experience. Richards has been in the professional ranks for nearly a decade and has fought some of the best light heavyweight has to offer. He is also trainedby Shane McGuigan, who has trained several world champions. Hutchinson does have the power to be wary of, but Richards should be able to overcome it. Expect a late stoppage win for Richards.
