William Zepeda Next Fight: The Future for ‘Camaron’
Recap of Zepeda vs. Hughes
In the opening round, Hughes started well, varying his attacks, but Zepeda quickly established his jab and put together some nice shots. The second round was the beginning of the end as Zepeda’s output increased, seemingly overwhelming the Englishman – who was struggling to deal with the volume and accuracy of the attacks coming his way.
Hughes tried to time his punches to halt Zepeda, but that tactic did not work as the Mexican continued to walk down the Brit and punish him. The accuracy began to be too much for Hughes to deal with as Zepeda showed no signs of slowing down. “Camaron” switched between the body and head impressively, and Hughes struggled to fire back even in single bursts. The Englishman somehow survived round four, but his corner called off the fight before the fifth round began.
William Zepeda Next Fight: Shakur Stevenson
Following the victory over Hughes, Zepeda quickly revealed who he would like to fight next: “In a perfect world, I want Shakur next.” A fight against Shakur Stevenson (21-0, 10 KOs) would undoubtedly attract plenty of attention.

Winner of Gervonta Davis vs. Frank Martin
Gervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) vs. Frank Martin (18-0, 12 KOs) has been agreed for Davis’ WBA lightweight title in late spring/early summer. The winner of this fight would be a fascinating opponent for Zepeda.
The speed and accuracy of the Mexican means he brings plenty of entertainment to his fights. “Tank” carries exceptional power in both hands and attacks from a variety of angles. He’s an excellent finisher who picks his punches well.

Frank Martin has brilliant defensive skills, making him hard to hit, but he also carries KO power. Martin has lightning reflexes, making him a great counter-puncher. The output from “Camaron” would cause either of these problems, but their strengths combined with Zepeda’s would ensure plenty of fireworks.
Winner of Vasiliy Lomachenko vs. George Kambosos Jr
Vasiliy Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs) and George Kambosos Jr. (21-2, 10 KOs) will collide on May 12 (May 11 for those in the United States) in the main event of a Top Rank card at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. The winner of this fight would be a viable option for meeting Zepeda in the future.
