Looking at the Last Three Opponents of Terence Crawford Before Israil Madrimov Fight
Before Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov: Errol Spence Jr.
If there were any doubts about how good Terence Crawford was, they were extinguished in style as Crawford pummeled Errol Spence Jr. He dominated from round two as he inflicted a flash knockdown on Spence. He took away the brilliant jab of his opponent by using his own jab to expertly control the tempo and distance as he snapped back the head of Spence on multiple occasions.
Crawford’s counterpunching was a joy to watch as he met any attack from “The Truth.” “Bud” hurt Spence constantly during the fight, scoring two further knockdowns in round seven. A beautiful combination of lefts and rights forced referee Harvey Dock – to wave off the fight in round nine.

David Avanesyan
On December 10, 2022, Crawford took on David Avenesyan. “Ava” started well and was pressuring Crawford, but gradually, the class of “Bud” took over as he led expertly with his lead right hand and worked off that in smart combinations.
The stoppage was a joy to watch, and vintage Crawford, with a beautiful left uppercut, followed up by a perfect right hook, which floored Avanesyan in dramatic style with the Armenian national needing attention from the ringside physician.
Shawn Porter
On paper, Shawn Porter looked like a real challenge for Crawford when they met on November 20, 2021. It was a close fight with Porter proving what a wiley opponent he was. Beginning round ten, two judges had Crawford up by a round while the third had him up by two.
During the tenth “Bud” landed a brilliantly timed left which floored Porter. Despite beating the count he was met with another accurate shot which landed on his temple and led to his father and trainer, Kenny Porter ending the fight. This was the final fight with Top Rank for Crawford.
