Matchroom Boxing Announce Intriguing Undercard Bouts for Hitchins-Lemos Bill
On Saturday, April 6, Richardson Hitchins vs. Gustavo Daniel Lemos will headline a Matchroom Boxing card at the recently opened Fontainebleau in Las Vegas in an IBF junior welterweight title eliminator on DAZN. The winner of the main event will become the mandatory challenger for Subriel Matias, who recently signed with Matchroom. The undercard for April 6 has now been revealed, with some intriguing bouts set to take place.

The undercard for the April 6 card was announced on March 5, with a world title confirmed, an Olympic 2020 Gold medallist and a top junior lightweight prospect set to appear. In addition to the main event, Diego Pacheco (20-0, 17 KOs) will return to action against Shawn McCalman (15-0, 7 KOs) in a 12-round super middleweight clash that was previously announced.

Featherweight southpaw Skye Nicholson (9-0, 1 KO) will get her world title opportunity against Sarah Mahfoud (14-1, 3 KOs) for the vacant WBC women’s featherweight title. The title is vacant following the decision of Amanda Serrano to vacate her title due to the decision by the WBC to not allow women’s title bouts to be scheduled for 12 three-minute rounds.
Olympic Gold Medallist and Junior Lightweight Prospect
Olympic 2020 gold medallist Galal Yafai (6-0, 4 KOs) will look to extend his unbeaten record against Argentinian Mauro Gauto (21-1, 15 KOs). The English fighter is being moved quickly and will be eager to carry on his impressive, rapid progress. Described by Tony Bellow as “the special one,” the future looks bright for this hugely talented flyweight.

Marc Castro (11-0, 8 KOs) made our list of five American boxers to watch out for in 2024. The Fresno fighter will face Abraham Montoya (22-5-1, 14 KOs) in a scheduled 10-rounder. The Mexican fighter will seemingly provide a stiff test for Castro, as he previously defeated Luis Alberto Lopez by a split decision back in 2018.
