Title fights from around the world: Thanongsak Simsri scores another quick stoppage in title defence
Today, boxing world title fights take place around the globe and are more accessible to watch than ever before. Sometimes, championship bouts do not receive as much attention and go underreported. Big Fight Weekend commits to writing about boxing news, previews, and recaps. As such, the site now has a recurring segment on boxing championship bouts from around the world from the past week.

Title fights from around the world: Thanongsak Simsri scores another quick stoppage in title defence
Thanongsak Simsri (41-1, 36 KOs) once again won a fight in two rounds, this time against Mark Vicelles (21-3-1, 11 KOs).
The official time of stoppage for his technical knockout win was 2:05. Simsri remains the IBF light flyweight world champion with the victory. He won the title in June last year against Cristian Araneta. This was his second defence.
Simsri-Vicelles headlined a Sept. 26 Suruga Danji Promotions card at the Fujisanmesse in Shizuoka, Japan. Fight fans around the world could catch the action live on the Boxing World YouTube channel.
Despite the eventual result, Vicelles actually began the fight well. He started to land left hooks to the body towards the end of round one. However, that was just about all the success he would have in this fight.
Vicelles was dropped with two minutes to go in round two by a one-two to the head. Simsri scored a second knockdown of his opponent not long after with another one-two upstairs. Referee Koji Tanaka put an end to proceedings just seconds later after seeing Vicelles get hit with a barrage of punches to the head.
