Report- Who’s Fighting Dillian Whyte Next?
Heavyweight Dillian Whyte has been floated to face a whole slew of names, but who is he really facing when he is back in the ring next month?
Matchroom Boxing tweeted out the promotional poster of Whyte in action in London at the O2 Arena Wednesday. The poster, while mentioning the date of Saturday, October 30, left out an important thing.
Against who?

In place of calling out to Shaggy and Scooby, I’m here to spitball and say that the name missing on the fight poster is undefeated heavyweight Jermaine Franklin. My assumption makes more sense as earlier in the week posted that he had signed his portion of the contract to face Whyte on social media.
“The ink is dry. I signed my agreement. Where are you, Betty Whyte? It’s time to make this happen. If I’m a bum, then sign your paperwork if you can spell your name, Franklin posted on Twitter Tuesday.”

Franklin’s (20-0, 13 KOs) name should come as no surprise to anyone who has been even paying attention to Whyte, as he was mentioned for a while now alongside names like Charles Martin. Martin confirmed he was out of the running earlier this week speaking with Sky Sports, however.
“Dillian Whyte is running back home to the UK before he even steps foot in America,” Martin said to Sky Sports.”Once Dillian found out that I was going to welcome him to America with a nice KO loss, he turned the plane around and flew home. That’s the truth. Ain’t anything here in America for Dillian but concussions.
While Martin-Whyte will have to wait, it looks like we’ll see Whyte take on Franklin as the Saginaw, Mich. native will make his UK debut on Halloween weekend. Franklin will have over a two-year layoff as the last time he was in action was back in October 2019, winning a wide points decision against Pavel Sour in Flint, Mich. This will be a huge leap in competition with Whyte who was last seen retiring Alexander Povetkin back in March in Gibraltar.
We’ll see how the rest of that card shakes out or if Franklin is the challenger for Whyte. Whoever it is, DAZN will broadcast the card worldwide.
