Queensberry Promotions Sign Amateur Star – Pro Debut Set for May 24
Queensberry Promotions have been busy in recent years signing some of the best talent in Britain and across the world. They have signed amateur stars such as Delicious Orie and Adedeji Adegbola. The promotional giant has now unveiled the signing of Scottish amateur star Reese Lynch.

Lynch Set for Highly Anticipated Pro Debut
Despite not fulfilling a dream of competing at the Olympics, Lynch is one of the best amateur talents to come out of Scotland. He dazzled in the amateur ranks, winning a bronze medal at the 2021 World Amateur Boxing Championships – becoming the first Scot to win a medal at the event.
2022 saw the talented Lynch win the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. In the light welterweight final, Lynch defeated Richarno Colin of Mauritius by a 4-1 split decision. In the first two rounds of that final, the Scot showed his impressive repertoire, outboxing his opponent, to build up a commanding lead.
Overcoming Disappointment and Turning Professional
Injuries and a crushing defeat to Englishman Patrick Mughalzai left Lynch heartbroken to miss out on the 2024 Olympics. Speaking after that loss, the Scot said: “So it has been hard because I know that I’ve missed out on a big opportunity and I believe that I’m still the best in Britain. But fair play to Patris, he’s a good boxer – it’s just that I know I can beat him on my day.”
The amateur star will make his professional debut on the Queensberry card on May 24 live on DAZN from The SSE Hydro in Glasgow. The “Land of the Brave” event will be headlined by Josh Taylor vs. Ekow Essuman in a 12-round welterweight clash. Drew Limond, Luke McCormack, and Alex Arthur Jr. are among the fighters scheduled to compete on the May 24 undercard.
