Joe Cordina and Anthony Cacace Full of Confidence Ahead of ‘Ring of Fire’ Super Featherweight Showdown

Joe Cordina (17-0, 9 KOs) and Anthony Cacace (21-1, 7 KOs) will clash in an intriguing super featherweight showdown.

The two meet on the undercard of “Ring of Fire”, an event that sees Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship. Boxing fans can catch the action live as a PPV on DAZN and ESPN+ in the United States. Those in the United Kingdom can also do so with TNT Sports, Sky Sports and DAZN. Cordina will be making the second defence of his IBF title that he regained against Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov last year.

“Ring of Fire” happens at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is part of Riyadh Season, a state-funded entertainment and sports festival. The Kingdom’s General Entertainment Authority is responsible for its organization.

Both fighters were present at a final press conference on Thursday at BLVD City. Below is what they had to say about their upcoming clash.

Joe Cordina and Anthony Cacace Meet in Super Featherweight Showdown

Joe Cordina

“This is a massive stage to showcase my talent on,” said Cordina“It’s a big fight. For years, I thought me and Anthony would cross paths, and we’re here now. I’m looking forward to a tough fight, and I’m looking forward to sharing the ring with him.”

“I believe in my ability the same way he believes in his ability. He believes he knows my weaknesses. I believe I know his and vice versa with the strengths. It’s going to be a good fight, and I’m looking forward to it.”

Anthony Cacace

“Listen, I’m here for a fight,” said Cacace. “I know all about Joe Cordina. I know his strengths, I know his weaknesses. I’ve waited 12 years as a pro for an opportunity like this, and it’s finally arrived on the biggest stage in world boxing for God knows how many years. So, I’m just very appreciative to be here. I’m here to win.”

Fight Prediction

While Cordina may only have knockouts in half of his fights, they tend to be quite impressive when they happen (just ask Kenichi Ogawa). Cacace has been very confident in the build-up to this bout – and it would be wrong to underestimate him. In the end, we see Cordina getting a close unanimous decision win. The Welshman has experience at this level, and we believe he will have a bit more to his game than Cacace.
