Jack Catterall vs. Regis Prograis: Press Conference Quotes and Fight Prediction

Jack Catterall (29-1, 13 KOs) and Regis Prograis (29-2, 24 KOs) soon clash in a super lightweight showdown.

The two headline a Matchroom Boxing card at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England. Their bout is scheduled for 12 rounds. Fight fans around the world can catch the action live on DAZN.

Ahead of their October 26 clash, both men spoke at a press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.

Jack Catterall vs. Regis Prograis Press Conference Quotes

Jack Catterall

“I think we spoke after the last fight [against Josh Taylor] and you [Eddie Hearn] said we could get a world title shot in 2025,” said Catterall. “And I’ve been in that position before where I’ve been waiting on something that might not happen. So my instruction to Sam [Jones, his manager] and Matchroom was ‘I want to fight the best’ and Regis was the name that was proposed and we jumped to it.”

Regis Prograis

“This is a fight I wanted,” said Prograis. “This the fight I wanted. Me and Jack were supposed to fight a long time ago, but it just obviously didn’t happen for reasons. I feel like they didn’t want to fight. I think you [Hearn] backed him into a corner. You may have told me too, but at the same time this is a big fight. This the best fight you can make at 140 without the belts and I’m all up. Like right now I’m just feeling super calm, super confident about everything. Super relaxed here. I don’t even feel like I’m away from home to be honest. Everybody here [has] been so nice. I expect people to be more hostile. I expect the crowd to talk shit to me and something but nobody said nothing.”

Fight Prediction

Prograis has underwhelmed in his last two bouts. He was last in action against Devin Haney in December last year, going down in round three and losing 120-107 across all three scorecards. Prior to that, he was in a low output fight against Danielito Zorrilla, winning a split decision. Catterall should be able to win this comfortably. Expect a unanimous decision win for “El Gato” on Saturday.
