Brandon Figueroa vs. Mark Magsayo: Live Stream, Betting Odds & Fight Card
The last couple of weeks has entertained boxing fans as there have been some great fights on multiple platforms from names that aren’t as known and some that haven’t been in action for a while. Saturday on Showtime, the vacant interim WBC featherweight title will be on the line when Brandon ‘The Heartbreaker’ Figueroa (23-1-1) faces former champion Mark Magsayo (24-1) live from the Toyota Arena in Ontario, CA. These two fighters are known amongst purists and look to provide an all-out brawl on Saturday night.
We last saw Figueroa eight months ago when he scored a TKO victory over Carlos Castro. That was Figueroa’s first fight at featherweight as he long campaigned at junior featherweight while becoming a world champion. His classic with now unified junior featherweight champion Stephen Fulton Jr. is still discussed, and he could see a future rematch at the featherweight division. Figueroa has to find a way to slow Magsayo down if he wants to pull off the victory.
On the other hand, his opponent Magsayo had a weird 2022 as he beat Gary Russell Jr. for the featherweight title and lost it a few months later to Rey Vargas. I say weird because when Magsayo won the title, he didn’t get the props he should have received for the achievement, as Russell Jr. fought with one arm for most of the fight. Then the fight with Vargas wasn’t the greatest mix of styles, leading to an underwhelming fight. Now Magsayo has an opportunity to get another victory over a name fighter and earn a rematch with Vargas if he can get passed the relentless Figueora.
