Caroline Veyre vs. Bernice Ferreira fight recap
Bernice Ferreira (11-0, 4 KOs) was the victor by disqualification against Caroline Veyre (11-2, 0 KOs).
The fight was stopped at 1:04 of round eight. Ferreira is now the WBC super featherweight world champion with the win. This was her first attempt at challenging for a championship belt.
Both women chose to box from the outside early on, looking to land shots from a distance. Veyre found success closing the distance in round two, allowing her to land combinations. The Canadian soon became content with moving off of the back foot, causing her opponent to press forward to get within striking range. Ferreira did not appear to be bothered by the punches coming her way. She landed several eye-catching shots with her approach. It was a competitive affair for as long as it lasted.
Clinching became more frequent as the fight progressed. Veyre was deducted a point in round four for repeatedly holding. Despite the deduction, she continued to initiate clinches. Veyre lost another point in round seven for the same infringement. The referee appeared to be very frustrated with the Canadian, ultimately disqualifying her in the eighth after she continued to hold despite repeated warnings.

Undercard results
Ashleyann Lozada (5-0, 1 KO) won a unanimous decision against Paulette Cuesta (19-6-1, 4 KOs). Scores for their 10-round super bantamweight clash were 100-90 (x2) and 99-91.
