Terence Crawford puts to rest any talk of return to professional boxing
Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) was asked about making a return to professional boxing.
He then proceeded to put to rest any talk of him ever actually returning to the ring on The Ariel Helwani Show. The five-division world champion joined Helwani via video call on Wednesday. It was over the course of the interview that the subject of coming out of retirement was brought up.
Crawford last fought in September last year. He challenged Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez for the undisputed super middleweight world championship at the time. Crawford was ultimately victorious by unanimous decision.

“I have a theory, and I hope you don’t take offence to this, I think we’re going to see you fight again,” said Helwani during the interview with Crawford. “And the reason why I think we’re going to see you fight again…[this tweet of yours] made me feel like you’re trying to tell us [that you intend to return].”
The tweet in question was posted by Crawford to X last month.
“I’m better off left alone,” it read. “Don’t make me have to show you why.”
“No, you wrong,” laughed Crawford as he responded to Helwani’s claim that he might return. “You wrong. [The tweet] didn’t have nothing to do with boxing.”
“But it’s ok. I’m happily retired and I don’t see myself coming back.”
Crawford was also asked whether he had received any serious offers to return to professional boxing. He responded in the negative.
“I’ve been approached on a couple of occasions about a couple of fights, things like that, but I just think it wasn’t a serious conversation. Children’s talk,” Crawford said.
