Shakur Stevenson Rips Floyd Schofield, Embraces Late Replacement
The loaded Riyad Season card dubbed The Last Crescendo, received a blow when the British Boxing Board of Control cancelled the fight between Shakur Stevenson (22-0, 10 KOs) and Floyd Schofield. “Kid Austin” fell ill and was admitted to hospital which led to the BBBofC making their decision. Josh Padley (15-0, 4 KOs) was soon named as the late replacement and Stevenson has since appeared at the Beterbiev vs Bivol 2 & undercard workout and taken aim at Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) while expressing his confidence ahead of Saturday night.

Stevenson Speaks Out at Open Workout
When asked by Chris Mannix at the open workout how the last 24 hours had been, Stevenson said: “It’s been fun. I love the show. I love everything about this. I’m still on the card. The show must go on. I’m ready to put on a show.”
When further probed regarding his prediction that Floyd Schofield wouldn’t make the fight, the WBC lightweight champ said: “I was already kinda expecting it. I knew the kid was scared from the start. I knew he was scared from the jump. When I seen him, he was definitely scared. I think he a punk.”
He was then asked about accepting Josh Padley as a late replacement: “Yes. I mean I watched one round. I’m in shape. I mean they could have sent anybody. They could have said Lomachenko let’s fight and I’d have said let’s do it,” said Stevenson with his usual swagger.
He added: “I know me at my best can beat anyone at their best. I’m the best in boxing and I’m going to show y’all Saturday night.”
