Five British Boxing Prospects to Watch in 2025
British boxing has been at the forefront of the sport in recent years with fighters such as Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua blazing a trial for the next generation who are beginning to come through and build their own legacies. It’s an exciting time for British Boxing and here are five of the best British boxing prospects to watch out for in 2025.
Top British Boxing Prospects to Watch in 2025
British Boxing Prospects: Junaid Bostan
Junaid Bostan (10-0, 8 KOs) is an exceptional talent in the super welterweight division. He demonstrated his toughness against Gordie Russ II and has consistently displayed an impressive skillset. Known for his poise in the ring, Bostan picks his punches with precision. The Rotherham fighter boasts a vast arsenal of skills and appears poised for a breakthrough year in 2025.
Pat McCormack
It may not be entirely fair to call Pat McCormack (6-0, 4 KOs) a prospect, but injury problems have slowed his professional career more than expected. He enjoyed an impressive amateur career, winning a plethora of medals, including a silver at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. He is a frightening talent, with fast hands and footwork, ensuring he controls the distance and tempo in his fights. McCormack and his team will hope for an active 2025 because the talent is there and clear for all to see. A huge threat to all in the welterweight division.
Francesca Hennessy
Fran Hennessy (5-0, 1 KO) won her first title in 2024, beating the previously undefeated Ana Karla Vaz De Moraes to win the WBA inter-continental title. Under the tutelage of former British and Commonwealth champion Bradley Skeete, her progression is clear and impressive. She moves her feet well and boxes off the back foot. It still feels like there’s more to come from the highly regarded Hennessy, and 2025 looks set to be a big year for the 20-year-old prospect.
Hamza Uddin
Hamza Uddin (4-0, 1 KO) recorded his latest win on the Dalton Smith vs Walid Ouizza undercard. He punches in impressive volume and is becoming more thoughtful in his work. He’s a special talent who enjoyed a brilliant amateur career, and 2025 should be a busy and successful year for the West Midlands fighter.
Ibraheem Sulaimaan
Ibraheem “Spider” Sulaimaan (7-0, 4 KOs) also won on the Dalton Smith vs. Walid Ouizza undercard, outpointing Reuquen Arce 80-72 in their super featherweight fight. An amateur standout who had adapted well to the professional game so far. He punches from varying angles to the head and body and is slick defensively, making him a nightmare to face. “Spider” will be a big problem for anyone in the super featherweight division during 2025 and beyond.
