Adam Azim vs. Sergey Lipinets: Press Conference Quotes and Fight Prediction

Adam Azim (12-0, 9 KOs) will soon take on Sergey Lipinets (18-3-1, 13 KOs) in a super lightweight clash.

Their bout headlines a BOXXER card at the Wembley Arena in London, England. Boxing fans in the United Kingdom and Ireland can catch the action live on Sky Sports. Those in the United States can do so with Peacock.

Both men spoke at a press conference on February 1 ahead of their bout. Below is some of what they said.

Adam Azim vs. Sergey Lipinets Press Conference Quotes

Adam Azim

“I’ve got high respect [sic] for him,” said Azim. “I’ve got so much respect for him. He’s a former IBF world champion. Also, he’s fought the likes of ‘Boots’ Ennis, Mikey Garcia, Lamont Peterson. He’s got the accolades around him where he’s fought at the world class level and I want to get to that point. I want to fight, obviously, the world class champions and this is my time to shine.”

Sergey Lipinets

“[I’m] glad to be in London for [the] first time,” said Lipinets. “It’s [a] very beautiful city. [I’m] glad to fight [at] the legendary arena, Wembley. Ready for the fight. What I expect [is that] he’s ready. [He’s] very good, ready for this fight and we show action in the ring for all 12 rounds.”

Fight Prediction

Lipinets has fought at a level that Azim has yet to reach. The former world champion may no longer be at the peak of his abilities but remains a step-up from the other fighters the young Brit has fought. However, Azim has shown much promise and should be able to deal with whatever his opponent brings. Expect this to be a fight that goes the distance where Lipinets’ experience will help him at times and take him to the final bell, but it will be Azim who claims the unanimous decision in the end.
