Will Demetrius Andrade Help His Profile Friday?
Coming up Friday night in New Hampshire, WBO World Middleweight title holder Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade, will make the latest defense of his belt. And, as has been the case with his last couple of title defenses, most observers and fans are watching to see if he will do something spectacular to help his profile and a future bigger fight?
Andrade will battle little regarded Irishman Jason Quigley in a scheduled 12 rounder in Manchester, New Hampshire that will headline the Matchroom Boxing/DAZN show there,

“We’re here. We’re gonna ‘turn up.’ The crowd is in it. That’s what I’m talking about. I’m ready to bring excitement come tomorrow night. It’s go time,” Andrade told DAZN after Friday afternoon’s weigh in.Â
When asked by Todd Grisham if Quigley was on his level and could defeat him, Andrade shot back,
“I’m the most confident fighter in this world and I don’t look at anybody like that. We’re gonna get in the ring. We’re gonna showcase what we’re made of and that’s it. I’m here, 30-0. I’m gonna be 31-0.”

Yes, there are questions as to whether Quigley, 19-1, 14 KOs, can pose much of a challenge to the slick moving, fast hands of Andrade? “Friday night I’m gonna put on the performance of my career. I’m here to put on a show in fron of all my Irish fans….I’m gonna get in there and give it one hell of a fight,” Quigley told Grisham Friday.
Still, the bigger question is: will Andrade be able to be impressive enough to gain momentum towards a possible unification fight against the winner of IBF champ Gennady Golovkin facing WBA champ Ryota Murata in Japan on December 28th?
There is also the intriguing fight with WBO #1 contender and former 154 lb. champ, Jaime Munguia, but that fight might not be as lucrative.
In the end, it’s largely up to Andrade to do his work Friday night… or not.
