Sebastian Fundora Emerges Victorious in Bloody Battle – What Could Be Next for the Unified Champion and Tim Tszyu?

Sebastian Fundora (21-1-1, 13 KOs) became unified champion in one of the bloodiest fights ever against Tim Tszyu(24-1, 17 KOs).

“The Towering Inferno” claimed Tszyu’s WBO and the vacant WBC super welterweight titles via split decision. Their bout headlined Premier Boxing Champion’s inaugural card on Prime Video. The March 30 event was held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV.

As is customary following a fight, attention turns towards the future, for the winner and the loser. This was a clash that will definitely see the stocks of both fighters rise in its aftermath. Big Fight Weekend takes a look at some options for both men.

What Is Next for Sebastian Fundora and Tim Tszyu?

The Rematch Option

After a fight like that, there is always chatter of a possible rematch. It appears there is no rematch clause written in the contracts. However, JCalderonBoxingTalk reports that “a verbal rematch” is in place, according to Fundora promoter Sampson Lewkowicz.

Regardless of whether the clause is in place, a second fight between the two would be welcome. Both are high-level operators in the 154-lb division, give their all in fights and do not care who is in front of them. In short, a Tszyu-Fundora rematch would be welcome.

Sebastian Fundora: The Errol Spence Jr. Option

During the post-fight interview with Fundora – former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. (28-1, 22 KOs) entered the ring. He had expressed an interest in facing the winner and appears willing to face “The Towering Inferno” Given that he was called into the ring to deliver a statement, a Fundora-Spence clash could be a real possibility. Whether it gets done remains to be seen.

Tim Tszyu: The Terence Crawford Option

With or without world titles, this is still a fight that would generate interest. Terence Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) is one of the best boxers in the world, if not the best. In Australia and the United States, Tszyu has shown that he can draw a crowd and put on entertaining fights. A Crawford clash should deliver its fair share of entertainment.
