Bivol vs. Beterbiev: Wardley-Clarke Leads Explosive Oct. 12 Riyadh Season Undercard

Dmitry Bivol (23-0, 12 KOs) and Artur Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KOs) will finally face off on October 12 in the highly anticipated undisputed light heavyweight clash in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is undoubtedly one of the best matchups possible in boxing, with these two undefeated fighters putting everything on the line. Ahead of fight night, BFW are looking at the stacked undercard supporting Bivol-Beterbiev.

Fabio Wardley vs. Frazer Clarke: Explosive Undercard for Bivol-Beterbiev

Wardley vs. Clarke II Set to Lead Stacked Bivol-Beterbiev Undercard

On March 31, Fabio Wardley (17-0-1, 16 KOs) vs. Frazer Clarke (8-0-1, 6 KOs) served up an all-British classic at the 02 Arena. Both fighters went back and forth, providing plenty of fireworks before the judges decided the two heavyweights could not be split and announced a draw, with one judge scoring it 114-113 for Wardley and one scoring it 115-112 for Clarke while the final scorecard read 113-113. The rematch is now set to lead the October 12 undercard, and if the second fight is anything like their first fight, action is seemingly guaranteed.

Bivol-Beterbiev Undercard: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Kamil Szeremeta

Chris Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KOs) returns to the ring against Polish fighter Kamil Szeremeta (25-2-2, 8 KOs). The Brighton fighter has high hopes for his return and his promoter Ben Shalom has also spoken about their aim to make the Canelo Álvarez fight. Eubank is expected to defeat Szeremeta and move on to bigger fights in 2025.

Jai Opetaia vs. Jack Massey

Jai Opetaia (25-0, 19 KOs) holds the IBF cruiserweight title and will defend his belt against European champion Jack Massey (22-2, 12 KOs). Both fighters come into this showdown – having won their last fight. The Australian defeated Mairis Briedis unanimously, while Massey scored a vital victory over Isaac Chamberlain on June 15. Opetaia will be hoping he comes through this test unscathed before moving on to potential unification fights in 2025.

Skye Nicolson vs. Raven Chapman

On this stacked undercard, the first female fight on a Riyadh Season card will take place with Skye Nicolson (11-0, 1 KOs) defending her WBC featherweight title against undefeated challenger Raven Chapman (9-0, 2 KOs). Nicolson is an exceptional backfoot fighter, while Chapman is an impressive pressure fighter making this an intriguing clash of styles for this WBC title clash.

Ben Whittaker vs. Liam Cameron

Ben Whittaker (8-0, 5 KOs) will take on his toughest challenge thus far as the 2020 Olympic silver medallist will face the experienced Sheffield fighter Liam Cameron (23-6, 10 KOs). “The Surgeon” will be eager to put on a show and hopefully move on to bigger fights in 2025.

The rebirth of Cameron has been miraculous, with the Sheffield fighter banned from the sport for four years, battling an alcohol addiction and tragically losing his daughter in a road accident. A shock win in Riyadh would be truly memorable for the Sheffield fighter who narrowly lost to Lyndon Arthur last time.

Mohammed Alakel vs. Jesus Gonzalez

Saudi Arabian fighter Mohammed Alakel will make his debut against Colombian Jesus Gonzalez (3-2, 0 Kos). The Colombian fighter was last seen against new Matchroom Boxing recruit Ibraheem Sulaimaan, losing by second-round TKO. Alakel will have experienced trainer Joe Gallagher in his corner on October 12 for his professional debut.
