On Saturday, December 21, Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) will collide in their highly anticipated rematch at the Kingdom Arena, Riyadh for Usyk’s WBA, WBC and WBO heavyweight titles. Many have speculated what will come after this rematch for both Usyk and the “The Gypsy King” and when speaking to Sky Sports News the Ukrainian has revealed his next step should he retain his titles on Saturday night.

What Could Be Next for Oleksandr Usyk if He Wins Against Tyson Fury?

Whether Fury or Usyk wins on December 21, speculation has been rife about what both could do next. Will the victor face the winner of Dubois-Parker for undisputed glory? Or will they meet in a trilogy bout?

When speaking to Sky Sports, Usyk made it clear he wants undisputed glory, but at cruiserweight: “[If] I win again, [in] a second fight, I’ll try cruiserweight again [for the undisputed title],” said Usyk. “I’ll try. I feel good. [This is] the 13th round because I feel like this.”

The Ukrainian superstar tasted undisputed glory at cruiserweight when he defeated Murat Gassiev before defending his crown against Tony Bellew.

A move to heavyweight followed, which only further enhanced his legacy with wins against Chazz Witherspoon and Derek Chisora, before successive wins against Anthony Joshua for the WBA, IBF and WBO titles. Since the AJ wins, Dubois and Fury have fallen to the Ukrainian.

Usyk Reflects on First Fury Fight

Reflecting on the fight with Fury: “Tyson Fury had a chance [to hurt me] in the sixth round, maybe the seventh round, maybe 12th, 11th, first, second,” Usyk added. “But Tyson did not do it. It’s just talk. Tyson said I had the chance. Yeah, no problem. We have a second fight, I’ll try.”
