Isaac Cruz vs. Nestor Bravo press conference quotes
Isaac Cruz
“This is another chapter in a great rivalry between two boxing rich nations,” said Cruz through an interpreter. “I guarantee we’re gonna put on a show and write another chapter in this rivalry.”
“This is a new era for Pitbull Cruz. I can guarantee that the fans are going to get their money’s worth on Saturday night.”
“This fight means a lot to me. This fight can be something that pushed my career forward. I have to win to go on and face the big names.”
Nestor Bravo
“Saturday night you’re gonna see what Nestor Bravo is about,” said Bravo. “If you don’t know me, then you’re gonna know me for sure after Saturday night.”
“I’m truly blessed to be honest. This is the type of fight that every boxer dreams of. I’ve been knocking on a lot of doors and I’m gonna take advantage of this moment.”
“You saw what happened when the real Nestor Bravo was back in the ring in January. I’m healthy and at my best.”
Fight prediction
From Big Fight Weekend’s Ricky Carroll: Cruz has undoubtedly mixed at a higher level than Bravo, sharing the ring with fighters such as Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach Jr. He’s a former world champion who brings the pressure whenever he fights. Cruz doesn’t give his opponent a second off. He’s adept at cutting off the ring and closing the distance before firing off his own work. He’s tough and carries plenty of power. Bravo will need a career-best performance.
Bravo enjoyed an impressive amateur career before turning professional in 2015. His best wins have come against Pedro Campa and Adrian Yung. Bravo is also an aggressive fighter who carries his own fight-ending power.
This should be a firefight, and we are backing the experience of Cruz to be the deciding factor. The Mexican will win a competitive unanimous decision.
