Matchroom Boxing Announce December 14 Card in Monte Carlo

Matchroom Boxing have confirmed they will be hosting a fight card at the Salle des Étoiles, Monte Carlo, on Saturday, December 14 with four fights named thus far. A card in Monte Carlo had been rumoured but the Promotional giant has now confirmed this end-of-year card to stream on DAZN.

Matchroom Boxing Announces Four Fights for Dec. 14 Card in Monte Carlo

Murodjon Akhmadaliev vs. Ricardo Espinoza Franco

Murodjon Akhmadaliev (12-1, 9 KOs) has been linked to a fight with super bantamweight king Naoya Inoue, but with the recent news revealing “Monster” will face Sam Goodman, it appears the Uzek fighter is choosing to stay active, and will take on Ricardo Espinoza Franco (30-4, 25 KOs). This bout will be for the WBA interim super bantamweight title.

Both possess plenty of power, but the Uzbek fighter will be looking to put on a show before hopefully moving on to face Inoue in 2025, should the Japanese star defeat Goodman.

Cheavon Clarke vs. Leonardo Mosquea

Chev Clarke (10-0, 7 KOs) will also appear on the card and face fellow unbeaten fighter Leonardo Mosquea (15-0, 9 KOs). This bout will be for the European cruiserweight title.

Clarke was last seen in action on August 31 this year, when he won an entertaining clash against Efetobor Apochi. His opponent has mostly fought in France, retaining the EBU silver cruiserweight title last time out.

Maxi Hughes vs. Gary Cully

Maxi Hughes (27-7-2, 6 KOs) will take on Irishman Garry Cully (18-1, 10 KOs) for the WBA continental lightweight belt.

Hughes has mixed at a high level, losing a controversial majority decision to George Kambosos Jr in 2023. Many at ringside had “Maximus” outworking his opponent. He also travelled to Las Vegas to face William Zepeda but was comprehensively stopped in round four. Cully suffered a brutal third-round stoppage against Jose Felix last year but has since bounced back, defeating Reece Mould and Francesco Patera. This looks set to be a make-or-break fight for both.

Beatriz Ferreira vs. Licia Boudersa

Two-time Olympic medalist Beatriz Ferreira (5-0, 2 KOs) will return to the professional ranks following her bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She will be defending her IBF lightweight belt against Licia Boudersa (23-2-2, 4 KOs).

Ferreira was last seen in the pro ranks when she defeated Yanina del Carmen Lescano by a sixth-round technical decision with the judge’s scorecards reading 59-55 x2 and 58-55. It was a dominant performance by the Brazilian before the cut over Lescano’s left eye ended the bout prematurely. The win over Lescano gave her the IBF title. Boudersa will aim to cause an upset and make it three wins in succession for the French national.

It remains to be seen what other fights – will be added to this event, but Big Fight Weekend hope to see the talented Cuban lightweight Andy Cruz added to the card.
