The two men headline a Boxxer card at the Copper Box Arena in London, England. Boxing fans in the United Kingdom can catch the action live on Sky Sports. Those in the United States can do so with Peacock.
Ahead of their fight on October 19, Azim and Davies spoke at a press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.
Adam Azim vs. Ohara Davies Press Conference Quotes
Adam Azim
“To be honest, look, I just want to be home watching my boxing,” said Azim. “But I have to do this, innit? It’s part of the journey. Look, I’m very happy to be here. All praise to Allah as well. I’m very thankful to where I am right now and it’s going to be a great fight. I’m just looking forward to it.”
Ohara Davies
“I’m just tired, you know,” said Davies. “I’m actually tired. Honestly talking, I’d rather be at home than be here talking to these people because listen, I’m a boxer. All I want to do is go to the gym, train and then go fight. But I have to do press conferences and media workouts and talk to all these people, cameras in my face. I only got into boxing because I don’twant to do this. I only got into boxing because I’m not fit for the whole corporate world, job interviews, meeting new people. I’m not good at that. That’s why I got into boxing in the first place. I box, I become pro and look where I am. In front of all these people talking…”
Fight Prediction
Davies is being treated like a step-up opponent for Azim and it is for a reason. Expectations are high for the Slough native and these are the kind of fights that are expected to develop his profile and abilities. Davies had a rough outing the last time he was in the ring, getting stopped in the opening round by Ismael Barroso. Expect Davies to be a bit more cautious on Saturday, but with Azim ultimately getting the unanimous decision win.
