Live Boxing in Nicaragua this Saturday
That is not a typo or fake news: we have live boxing in Nicaragua this upcoming Saturday.
ESPN Deportes broke out the details on Tuesday that the only world wide live boxing event taking place this weekend during the COVID 19 pandemic will be at the Alexis Argüello Sports Center in Managua, Nicaragua.
This event will be the first live boxing, since the sports world stopped live boxing across the globe over a month ago. The live boxing event will be held by the first one promoted by Búfalo Boxing Promotions.

Based on the report to national authorities, Nicaragua has only 10 detected cases of Covid-19 among its population, of which at least eight acquired it outside the country and the other two through contact with one of them. Two of them died, according to reports.
“Here in Nicaragua there is no quarantine,” explained the promoter of the event, former world champion Rosendo ‘Búfalo’ Álvarez to ESPN Deportes. “The Nicaraguan government and the Ministry of Health have made a great effort so that the pandemic does not wreak havoc in the country,” added the former champion, who mentioned Ramiro Blanco before Robin Zamora in the star duel and Freddy Fonseca before Alain Aguilar in the semifinal.”

“As a boxing promoting company we have the responsibility to provide all the fans who go to the event with the necessary conditions for their safety, we will measure the temperature of the participants, commissioners and fans, there will be alcohol in gel, soap, water, the facilities are suitable for this event and we will prioritize the safety and health of all,” Rosendo stated.
