PBC sign two undefeated rising stars

Premier Boxing Champions have had many great fighters over the years, including David Benavidez, Errol Spence Jr, and Carlos Adames, among others. They also promote the current WBC super welterweight world champion Sebastian Fundora and have now announced the signing of two undefeated rising stars, Carlos Utria and Marco Romero.

Utria (14-0, 11 KOs) is one of the most promising fighters in the sport. He was named Boxing Scene’s 2025 Prospect of the Year, and more recently, he emerged victorious in the WBC Boxing Grand Prix, culminating in a unanimous decision win over Mujibillo Tursunov.

Coached by his father Lenyn Utria, he has shown patience and an ability to put his punches together impressively, while carrying pop in his punches. Utria’s PBC debut will come on the Rolly Romero vs Teofimo Lopez undercard, where he will face Israel Mercado.

Romero (14-0, 12 KOs) enjoyed an impressive amateur career, winning 23 national titles, most notably winning the 2024 National Golden Gloves title. Since turning professional in 2024, Romero has done nothing but impress. 

The 20-year-old Kansas fighter has shown plenty of power, recording 11 of his 12 KO’s coming within three rounds. Romero has won three times in 2026, including last time out against Andre Sherard. Now under the PBC, he will have opportunities on big upcoming cards, including Pitbull Cruz headlining on September 19.

The next card from Premier Boxing Champions will be headlined by Rolly Romero vs Teofimo Lopez at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. They will square off on August 22, live on DAZN PPV and Prime Video. Romero will be defending his WBA welterweight title.

Information on Romero’s PBC debuts will be announced shortly.
