Mayweather back again leads to so many questions
On Tuesday, Floyd Mayweather Jr. told Reuters he was done with the brutal sport of boxing. A simple 48 later and while checking my social media this morning, Mayweather is back in.
In a post on his Instragram, Mayweather stated he was coming out of retirement in 2020. In the post Mayweather stated that he would be working with UFC president Dana White on the upcoming event.

As a regular boxing contributor to “The Martin Gramatica Show” heard locally in Tampa,Florida, host Rock Riley reminded he has “came out of retirement” 12 times since the first one he proclaimed back in 2005. So if I sound jaded and skeptic on this latest come out party, you can understand why.
The speculation and the guessing game however can begin as his latest foray back into ring opens up the flood gates with what seems to be endless questions behind it.
One of those first few questions is the one that should be the easiest. Is this going to start the launch of Dana White’s Zuffo Boxing that was supposed to make a big announcement last month that just fell by the waste side.
Mayweather being apart of it sounds like a big enough one for me.
Is Mayweather actually going to return to the ring in a actual sanctioned bout or another exhibition? Those who still have that fire to see “Money May” lose a fight in the ring will ask if this is going to be an actual fight with an game challenger or another easy payday exhibition like the one he had last New Year’s Eve.
“I’ll still travel and do exhibitions. I make great money doing exhibitions — between $10 and $30 million,” Mayweather said of the fights, which have no bearing on his 50-0 record to Reuters Tuesday”.
Also the most important and possible 100 million dollar question, will it be against Manny Pacquiao?
Mayweather has gone on the record to say that he wouldn’t face him again.As I mentioned above, he’s also retired 12 times as well so take his non-committal as you will. It is also a rematch that both guys have been hinting at since their last bout in 2015 which did record numbers despite being well long delayed to take place. With the recent reports of current boxing stars having poor gate numbers, even at their advanced age a rematch from these two still would be a draw.
One thing for sure is that if Mayweather is really back this time, the buzz wlll surely follow.
