Amanda Serrano vs. Lucrecia Manzur press conference quotes
Amanda Serrano
“It’s pretty cool [to headline a boxing event on TikTok] and listen, my journey hasn’t been an easy one,” said Serrano. “It’s been a long 17 years, hard years. That you guys just figured me out thanks to MVP a couple of years ago, but me, my sister, and Jordan [Maldonado, her trainer], we struggled for so many years. The last five years that I joined with MVP have been truly the best moments in my career. Has been the funnest [sic]. I’m meeting so many great people. Introducing these amazing fans to women’s boxing has been truly the best feeling and I’m truly honoured, but hey, Friday is the first again.”
“[Expect our fight to be] a war … she’s going to come to fight. She’s going to come nonstop, throwing punches and I invite that. I love that. I love to fight and you guys are in for a treat. You guys are in for a war. You know every time Amanda Serrano ‘The Real Deal’ steps into the ring, I fight for you guys and I give it all I got.”
Lucrecia Manzur
“I know what kind of fighter I am,” said Manzur through an interpreter. “I am coming here to fight and coming here to make my dream come true: becoming a world champion.”
“I know it’s going to be a great fight. I prepared myself very well for this fight and I’m going to give everything inside the ring Friday night.”
Fight prediction
In her 18 fights, Manzur faced boxers with losing records on five occasions and fought debutants thrice. Other opponents of the Argentinian sported records such as 7-7, 9-8-3, and 20-10 at the time of facing her. Although Manzur has reigned as the Argentinian and South American featherweight champion, she will be facing a significant challenge in Serrano. The Puerto Rican has much experience and will simply be too much for the challenger to handle. Expect Serrano to get the stoppage within eight rounds.
