Josh Padley recent form
Padley (18-1, 6 KOs) recorded a brilliant win against Mark Chamberlain in 2024, but his career changed forever when he stepped up at the eleventh hour to face Shakur Stevenson after Floyd Schofield withdrew from the fight. Despite losing, Padley was widely praised for his performance, and subsequently inked a promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing.
Since then, Padley has won three consecutive fights, including an impressive TKO win against Jaouad Belmehdi to win the vacant European title.
Aqib Fiaz recent form
Fiaz (14-1, 2 KOs) has suffered just one defeat, a stoppage loss to an inspired Reece Belotti in 2023. Since then, he has won both of his fights: a stoppage victory against Lydon Chircop and a hard-fought but deserved unanimous decision win against Alex Murphy.
Josh Padley vs Aqib Fiaz prediction
Padley is a hard-working fighter. He throws with volume and refuses to give opponents time to breathe. He has excellent stamina and picks his shots impressively. His experience since the Stevenson fight will be invaluable for him going forward. Padley’s power is underrated, and he’s given us a glimpse of it in recent fights, with two stoppage wins in his last three bouts.
Fiaz was a good amateur, with his career being somewhat stop-start since turning professional. He possesses good footwork and is often difficult to pin down. He’s a talented counterpuncher and will be relying on that against Padley.
We are backing the pressure from Padley to be too much for Fiaz, with Padley winning by unanimous decision.
