The Last Three Fights of Conor Benn

Conor Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) will soon face Chris Eubank Jr. (34-3, 25 KOs) in a continuation of the rivalry their fathers once shared.

Their bout headlines a Riyadh Season card at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England. Boxing fans around the world can catch the action as a pay-per-view (PPV) on DAZN. For those in the United Kingdom, the PPV will also be available on Sky Sports. Eubank-Benn is part of Riyadh Season, a state-funded entertainment and sports festival. The Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority is responsible for its organization.

Ahead of his April 26 clash, Big Fight Weekend looks at the last three fights of Benn.

Conor Benn: A Look Back at His Last 3 Fights

Peter Dobson

Benn’s only fight in 2024 was against Peter Dobson (16-2, 9 KOs). Due to a ban on the second-generation boxer from fighting in the United Kingdom after testing positive for a banned substance, this bout wound up taking place in Las Vegas, NV. Scheduled for 12 rounds and with both fighters having weighed 150.5 lbs at the weigh-in, Benn would end up winning via unanimous decision.

The Englishman adopted an aggressive approach in the early rounds, walking towards his opponent to land hooks. Towards the end of the third, Dobson started to show more intent and was landing clean right hands. Throughout the fight, he would stay within close range of Benn but was not as active as “The Destroyer.” In the end, what separated the two was the greater volume of punches from Benn, who won with scores of 119-109 and 118-110 (x2).

Rodolfo Orozco

Benn’s only fight of 2023 also took place in the United States due to his ban from fighting in the United Kingdom. This time, he faced Rodolfo Orozco (33-4-3, 25 KOs) in Orlando, FL. The bout, scheduled for 10 rounds in the super welterweight division, was won by Benn via unanimous decision.

Orozco proved to be a durable opponent. Despite getting hit several times to the head and body, he remained standing and continued to press forward throughout the fight. Although he had some moments of success, these were few and far between. Benn would win with scores of 99-91 (x2) and 96-94.

Chris van Heerden

When Benn knocked out Chris van Heerden (28-3-1, 12 KOs, 1 NC) in 2022, it would end up being his last fight in the United Kingdom for at least another three years. Though it was scheduled for 12 rounds, this welterweight clash was over within six minutes after the first bell had struck. Benn won via technical knockout.

The Englishman was on the front foot from the very beginning, eager to get the stoppage victory. With over two minutes to go in round two, van Heerden was stunned by a right hand. Following a barrage of punches, he went to the canvas. Referee Steve Gray had begun counting, but terminated it after reaching five, giving Benn the technical knockout win. The official time of stoppage was 0:59 of round two.
