The crowd were restless and seemingly looking to see their man land a statement KO. Round seven was seemingly going the same way, with not much happening before AJ closed the distance and landed a massive right hand, which ended the fight emphatically.

Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin – December 23, 2023

The fight against Wallin was the first outing for the Watford native under the tutelage of Ben Davison. Before the fight, some tipped the Swedish southpaw to cause AJ problems. Joshua stamped his authority in round three with well-placed shots to the head and body.

The British fighters’ movement seemed to be troubling Wallin. Round five saw Joshua step on the gas and repeatedly land telling blows, inflicting visible damage to his opponent’s nose. Following the conclusion of the fifth round, Wallin’s corner did not let him come out to continue fighting in the sixth, awarding Joshua the victory.

The beginning of the fight saw – both men feel their way into it before Joshua landed a heavy straight right that sent Ngannou to the canvas. Despite beating the count, this was already the beginning of the end.
