Tim Tszyu Reveals Opponent Hit List and Title Aspirations

Tim Tszyu (24-1, 17 KOs) was last seen in the ring when he was involved in a bloody encounter against Sebastian Fundora on March 30, 2024. “The Soul Taker” sustained a terrible cut which saw him fight through and narrowly lose by split decision, with the scorecards reading 116-112 for the Australian and 116-112 and 115-113 for Fundora. BoxingScene has reported that Tszyu is keen to work with Turki Alalshikh and has revealed his list of opponents he’s prepared to face.

Tim Tszyu Ready for IBF Challenge

Murtazaliev and Tszyu have until September 5 to make a deal, otherwise purse bids will be ordered. The Australian was due to fight Erikson Lubin before he dropped out due to a hand injury. Tszyu now had his title shot without going through an eliminator bout first. Reacting to the IBFs order, Tszyu said: “It’s amazing. It’s time to become a two-time world champ. (Murtazaliev) is a world champion for a reason and in this level you’ve just got to take them all out one by one. I’m looking forward to this challenge wherever it is. It’s been a long time coming.”

Murtazaliev (22-0, 16 KOs) became the IBF champion after knocking out Jack Culcay in the 11th round to win the vacant belt on April 6.

Tszyu Reveals Opponent Hit List

Tszyu is keen to get back on the winning trail, and when speaking to BoxingScene, the Australian revealed his admiration for Turki Alalalshikh: “I’d love to work with him.” He continued: “He’s all about making the big fights happen and I’mall for that. But I’ve got a team. I’ve got a professional team with me and everything is organised through that.”

He added: “Me and Vergil (Ortiz) would be a cracking fight but at the same time an Errol Spence-Fundora fight would be good. I’m happy for both.”

Looking at the IBF champion, Tszyu said: “He (Murtazaliev)’s the IBF champ, you can’t disrespect the guy. He’s world champion for a reason, but I don’t think he’s fought anyone like Tim Tszyu so that’s another story in itself.” He added: “He brings something different, I guess.”
