How Quickly Will “Real Big Baby” Anderson Lower Boom?

Coming up tonight in Tulsa, OK, in the Top Rank Boxing/ESPN co-feature fight, unbeaten heavyweight prospect Jared “Real Big Baby” Anderson will look for a 12th straight KO to begin his career. That’s when he faces little known Serbian, veteran, Miljan Rovcanin.

Anderson, 11-0, 11 KOs, weighed in at 241 lb. Friday afternoon, while Rovcanin was 231 lb.

Anderson knows he’s expected to deliver an early KO and said he isn’t sure if Rovcanin will be the toughest man he’s been in with or not? He told the media in Tulsa Thursday,

“No, I have not been able to get a lot of footage {on Rovcanin}. And, also, I don’t know. He could be. It’s possible. I guess I won’t know until I get in there because I only really had one fight to watch. I’ve definitely had some tough opponents in my career so far. I think Rodney Hernandez was real tough. Also, Kingsley Ibeh was real tough. I think they took some pretty hard shots before going down, so we’ll see.”

Further, the Ohio born Anderson has gained experience from being in previous training camps and sparring with WBC Heavyweight Champ, Tyson Fury. Anderson said, again on Thursday of Fury,

“In all honesty, he’s a real good dude. I enjoyed my camp. I guess I’m over the learning experience now. It’s time to become the teacher now, I guess. I’m happy he showed me everything he did, but he said he’s finished with his career. Like I said, it’s time to be the teacher now.”

Anderson demolished Oleksandr Teslenko in under two rounds at Madison Square Garden last December.

Rovcanin, who’s 24-2 and never fought in the USA, has won five fights in a row since unbeaten, Kurdish German contender Agit Kabayel kayoed him in April of 2018. But, Kabayel is the most legitimate fighter he’s been in with to date.

Now, as a 25-1 favorite to get the knockout, we’ll see if Anderson does so early in this one?
