Murray looking to rebound against Poulsen
Four-time world title challenger Martin Murray is determined to blast the solid Kim Poulsen aside at #MTKFightNight in Liverpool on July 12.
St Helens’ Murray (37-5-1, 17 KOs) returns to action at the Eventim Olympia – which will be broadcasting live on the streaming service ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and on iFL TV everywhere outside the United States against Denmark’s Poulsen (28-5, 7 KOs) in a 10-round contest.
Murray is looking to rebound after his fight where he lost to Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam by majority decision last December in Manchester.
Poulsen, who was last seen taking WBA Oceania super-middleweight champion Jayde Mitchell the full ten rounds in December, is very much a ‘live’ opponent – but Murray is plotting a brutal welcome.
Murray said in a press release: “I believe I’m on a different level to him but for a comeback fight, it’s not going to be any kind of walkover. He’s coming to win.
“With my skills as a boxer plus my superior physical attributes, I still plan on getting him out of there and look good doing it.
“This is a massive night of boxing in Liverpool. I didn’t dream of coming back on something like this. It’s an absolutely stacked bill with some world-class Scousers on it as well as one of Manchester’s finest in Terry Flanagan.
“The Olympia is such a great venue. I’ve fought there before but this card could easily have been filling the Echo Arena.
“The Scouse fight fans are the best in the world and I can’t wait to put on a good show for them.”
Joining Murray on one of Liverpool’s most prominent shows in recent times are recent world champions Rocky Fielding and Flanagan, Olympic heroine Tasha Jonas, Jazza Dickens vs. Nathaniel May for the IBF European super-bantamweight title and more to be announced at a later date.
