Evander Holyfield Stopped By Vitor Belfort In One
Former four time Heavyweight Champ, Evander Holyfield, stepped into the ring on less than a week’s notice and looked all 58 years young in it, as he was stopped in safely, quick fashion against former UFC champion Vitor Belforti Saturday night.
The contest coming from the Hard Rock Casno and Hotel from Hollywood, Florida, was a last-minute location swap from Los Angeles and of opponents, as Oscar De La Hoya had to withdraw due to catching COIVD-19. It is unclear if it was an exhibition or not, but I can safely say that is due to what was a very easy stoppage first-round victory for Belfort.
“I let him (Belfort) get to close,” Holyfield said after the fight that aired on pay-per-view Triller.
That is the fight recap of this in a nutshell.
And it’s all over already, Vitor Belfort swarms Holyfield, who is 58, and ref quickly – and wisely – stopped it. Holyfield should not have been in there. #HolyfieldBelfort

Holyfield, who last was in the ring back in 2011, was, as expected, pounced on by the smaller Belfort, who was able to score a knockdown late in the first round. Holyfield beat the count, but after what seemed to be a flurry of punches with no return fire back from Holyfield, the referee stopped the contest, much to the disappointment to the crowd in attendance and a frustrated Holyfiels\d. The stoppage was the right call as you can’t have a 58-year-old man taking any punishment without any return fire at all.
That was this main event and $49.95 down the drain for a fight card that shouldn’t have happened and, more importantly, was a waste of everyone’s time on what turned out to be a feeble fight card.
Belfort, after the fight, called out Jake Paul to come to fight on Triller as both are within the same weight ballpark. Belfort and Holyfield were both over 200 pounds for funsies.
To sum up, this fight card from Triller was in its usual fashion. The musical acts seemed to be the spotlight here, and the fights were the intermissions.
