The three fights we have listed are, in our opinion, the best ones on offer on the remainder of the August boxing schedule. Caroline Dubois vs Amelia Moore, Aloys Youmbi vs Mike Perez, and George Liddard vs Dario Morello are just three other fights we will be watching closely.

Rolly Romero vs Teofimo Lopez

The first fight we are highlighting on the remainder of the August boxing schedule is Rolly Romero vs Teofimo Lopez for Romero’s WBA welterweight title. This world title bout will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Fight fans can catch the action on DAZN PPV, Ultimate Tier, and Prime Video.

Romero (17-2, 13 KOs) will be defending the title he was elevated to by the WBA. He last fought in May 2025, beating a below-par Ryan Garcia on the Times Square card. 

Lopez (22-2, 13 KOs) fought earlier this year, when he was thoroughly outclassed by Shakur Stevenson. He will be eager to become a three-division world champion by beating Rolly.

Romero has that one-punch KO power in his locker and is difficult to read. He punches from unorthodox angles, and Lopez will need to be at his best. We are backing Lopez to utilise his explosive hand speed and effective jab, and defeat Romero by unanimous decision.

Moses Itauma vs Filip Hrgovic

On August 29, at the O2 Arena in London, live on DAZN PPV, Moses Itauma vs Filip Hrgovic headlines a Queensberry Promotions fight card. This heavyweight bout will be for the vacant IBF heavyweight world title.

Frank Warren recently revealed how this fight came to be for the IBF title:

“We paid [Sanchez] some money. We said whoever wins the fight, you’re not losing out, and you’ll get the opportunity to fight for the title against the winner,” said Warren.

Itauma (14-0, 12 KOs) has blown away most opponents with consummate ease. His most impressive wins have come against Jermaine Franklin, Dillian Whyte and Mike Balogun.

Hrgovic (20-1, 15 KOs) has only lost to Dubois, and possesses plenty of power of his own and a strong chin. The Croatian most recently defeated Dave Allen.

Can Hrgovic take Itauma into deep waters? We believe the Brit will have too much speed and power, despite the experience of the Croatian.

Mikaela Mayer vs Chantelle Cameron

On August 29, at the bp pulse LIVE in Birmingham, Mikaela Mayer vs Chantelle Cameron headlines the MVPW-06 UK vs USA fight card, promoted by Most Valuable Promotions, live on Sky Sports and ESPN+. The main event will be a WBC/WBA/WBO super welterweight unification bout.

This could well be the best fight in the remainder of August, with Cameron (22-1, 8 KOs) holding a legendary win over the great Katie Taylor. Cameron won the WBO crown against Michaela Kotaskova, with an impressive performance in London in April this year.

Mayer (22-2, 5 KOs) has always shown a willingness to fight the very best. She holds two impressive wins over Sandy Ryan, and won the WBC and WBO titles with a comfortable victory over Mary Spencer last October.

Cameron is an exceptional fighter who applies pressure throughout her fights. Her ring IQ shines through in how she uses her jab to control the distance and tempo. She also uses her feet very well to avoid heavy shots from opponents.

Mayer also throws in high volume and uses her outstanding jab so well. She, like Cameron, is capable of boxing long or meeting in the middle of the ring, exchanging bombs. This is a difficult fight to call, but we are backing Mayer to win by majority decision.
