What can you say about the Gypsy King? Tyson Fury possesses exceptional ring IQ and has a brilliant ability to figure opponents out during his fights. His movement for a man of his size is astounding. Under the guidance of SugarHill, Fury has become a much more aggressive boxer, who can fight on the front and back foot. His two wins over Deontay Wilder and success over Dillian Whyte showcased his impressive KO power.
Dillian Whyte
Few are as tough as Dillian Whyte. His dramatic win against Derek Chisora in their second fight and his destruction of Alexander Povetkin in their rematch proved just how hard he hits. Whyte has immeasurable bravery and will go toe-to-toe with any heavyweight and trade, as proven throughout his career. His punch power makes him a danger to any opponent. His fights are normally entertaining, and it remains to be seen what will come next for The Body Snatcher.
Callum Smith
Callum Smith suffered a gut-wrenching points defeat against Canelo Alvarez in 2020 but has since moved to light heavyweight. Since moving up in weight, Mundo showed his power as he inflicted a sickening second-round KO on Lenin Castillo. His next outing at the new weight saw him dismantle Mathieu Bauderlique in four rounds on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua II. Victory against the Frenchman has earned the Liverpool fighter a shot against IBF, WBC & WBO light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev in Quebec. The fight is scheduled for August this year, with the exact details still to be confirmed.
Anthony Joshua
When talking about big-punching British boxers, it’s difficult to not mention Anthony Joshua. AJ has won 25 of his 28 fights, with 22 coming by knockout. He survived a scare against Dillian Whyte but ultimately stopped The Body Snatcher in round seven, showcasing his KO power. Impressive knockout performances were later seen against Charles Martin before the memorable night at Wembley Stadium, where AJ stopped Wladimir Klitschko in round eleven of their barnstorming fight.
Anthony Yarde
Twenty-two of Anthony Yarde’s 23 wins have come by knockout. His power is impressive, as proven by his four-round destruction in the Lyndon Arthur rematch. His performance was tornado-like as he picked every punch with spite before Arthur collapsed to the canvas in round four. Yarde also showcased his power in his defeat against Artur Beterbiev before succumbing to arguably boxing’s fiercest puncher.
Honourable Mentions
