Osleys Iglesias vs. Pavel Silyagin fight recap

Osleys Iglesias (15-0, 14 KOs) had to deal with an opponent who was constantly on the move, but ultimately got the technical knockout in eight rounds.

The official time of stoppage was 3:00. Iglesias is now the IBF super middleweight world champion with the victory. The title had been vacant due to the retirement of Terence Crawford.

Silyagin (16-1-1, 7 KOs) was briefly rocked by a right uppercut in the opening round that caused swelling around his left eye. He was constantly on the move, but the small size of the ring made fighting off the back foot difficult. Despite this, Iglesias still had some struggles closing the distance and landing punches.

Iglesias threw at a higher volume and won rounds off of that. He was almost always in pursuit of his opponent. Silyagin seldom opened up, even when he was the one coming forward. Iglesias was only able to land a couple of punches at a time when he let his hands go, an indicator of just how much the Russian was moving around the ring.

A left hook in round eight caused blood to pour from the nose of Silyagin. The fight ultimately came to an end following the conclusion of the round. Silyagin did not leave his corner, giving Iglesias the victory via technical knockout.
