Boxing at the Olympics: Day Seven Results Including a Win for ‘The Big Uzbek’

The 2024 Paris Olympics are underway, and boxing is again at the leading international sporting event.

Below are the results for the seventh day of boxing at the Olympics.

Session One

Lin Yu-ting (Chinese Taipei) won on points against Sitora Turdibekova (Uzbekistan). All five judges had the women’s 57kg bout in favour of Yu-ting.

Svetlana Kamenova Staneva (Bulgaria) won on points against Micaela Walsh (Ireland). All five judges had the women’s 57kg fight in favour of Staneva.

Esra Yıldız Kahraman (Türkiye) won on points against Khouloud Hlimi (Tunisia). All five judges had the women’s 57kg clash for Kahraman.

Jucielen Cerqueira Romeu (Brazil) won on points against Alyssa Mendoza (United States). While one judge had the women’s 57kg contest in favour of Mendoza, the other four had it for Romeu.

Billal Bennama (France) won on points against Alejandro Claro Fiz (Cuba). While two judges saw the men’s 51kg bout in favour of Claro Fiz, the other three had it for Bennama. With the win, Bennama is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Junior Alcántara Reyes (Dominican Republic) won on points against Rafael Lozano Serrano (Spain). While two judges saw the men’s 51kg fight in favour of Serrano, the other three saw it for Reyes. With the win, Reyes is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Cristian Javier Pinales (Dominican Republic) won on points against Gabrijel Veočić (Croatia). All five judges had the men’s 80kg clash in favour of Pinales. With the win, Pinales is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Nurbek Oralbay (Kazakhstan) won on points against Murad Allahverdiyev (Azerbaijan). All five judges had the men’s 80kg contest for Oralbay. With the win, Oralbay is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Nelvie Raman Tiafack (Germany) won on points against Diego Lenzi (Italy). All five judges had the men’s +92kg bout in favour of Tiafack. With the win, Tiafack is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Bakhodir Jalolov (Uzbekistan) won on points against Teremoana Junior (Australia). All five judges had the men’s +92kg fight in favour of “The Big Uzbek.” With the win, Jalolov is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Session Two

Nesthy Petecio (The Philippines) won on points against Amina Zidani (France). While one judge had Zidani winning, the four had Petecio winning the women’s 57kg clash.

Xu Zichun (China) won on points against Valeria Arboleda Mendoza (Colombia). While two judges had Mendoza winning the women’s 57kg contest, the other three had it for Zichun.

Ashleyann Lozada Motta (Puerto Rico) won on points against Karina Ibragimova (Kazakhstan). All five judges had Motta winning the women’s 57kg fight.

Julia Szeremeta (Poland) won on points against Tina Rahimi (Australia). All five judges had Szeremeta winning the women’s 57kg bout.

David de Pina (Cape Verde) won on points against Patrick Chinyemba (Zambia). All five judges had the men’s 51kg clash in favour of de Pina. With the win, de Pina is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Hasanboy Dusmatov (Uzbekistan) won on points against Saken Bibossinov (Kazakhstan). While two judges had Bibossinov winning the men’s 51kg contest, the other three had it for Dusmatov. With the win, Dusmatov is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Oleksandr Khyzhniak (Ukraine) won on points against Wanderley de Souza Pereira (Brazil). All five judges had the men’s 80kg fight in favour of Khyzhniak. With the win, Khyzhniak is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Arlen López Cardona (Cuba) won on points against Turabek Khabibullaev (Uzbekistan). While two judges had the men’s 80kg bout in favour of Khabibullaev, the other three had it for López Cardona. With the win, López Cardona is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Djamili-Dini Aboudou Moindze (France) won on points against Gerlon Gilmar Congo Chala (Ecuador). While one judge had Congo Chala winning the men’s +92kg contest, the other four had it for Aboudou Moindze. With the win, Aboudou Moindze is guaranteed a bronze medal at least.

Ayoub Ghadfa Drissi El Aissaoui (Spain) won on points against Davit Chaloyan (Armenia). All five judges had Ghadfa winning the men’s +92kg clash. With the win, Ghadfa is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.
