‘It’s Personal’: John Gotti III Vows to Settle Bad Blood With Floyd Mayweather in Rematch
Floyd Mayweather will face John Gotti III in his latest exhibition bout on August 24 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City. The main event and full undercard will be shown live on DAZN PPV in over 200 countries. The first contest between the two ended in a DQ after persistent infractions from Gotti. Ahead of their rematch, the New York native has spoken to DAZN during a recent interview about settling bad blood in the rematch.

John Gotti III Talks Bad Blood and Punishing Mayweather
Gotti III vs. Mayweather 1 ending in a no contest has led to this rematch, and the New York native has revealed his desire to settle this rivalry once and for all: “I know this is going to be a very tough fight,” Gotti III said. He continued: “I know there’s a lot of bad blood and I know man-to-man, Floyd wants to settle this as do I. Forget all the boxing and all that other stuff.”
“It’s between me and him,” he added. “It’s personal.”

Despite describing the fight as personal, Gotti III made it clear he doesn’t hate “Money” Mayweather: “In the ring, it’s personal,” he offered. “Outside the ring, I wish him a 100 years of health and happiness. But how would I feel to knock him out? I’d feel great.”
In a warning to Mayweather, Gotti III said: “He’s just an opponent now, he’s just a face.” He added: “If he comes in the way he came in the first fight, he’s going to get caught. He was very lax and lazy. If he comes in, there was a lot of mistakes he made as well, he’s going to get caught.”

His father John Gotti Jr. also said: “We hope John ends it quickly and I believe he has the ability to do that.” Gotti Jr. added: “No question about it.”
