Joe Joyce vs. Derek Chisora: Press Conference Highlights and Fight Prediction

The two headline a Queensberry Promotions card at the O2 Arena in London, England. Fight fans in the United Kingdom can catch the action live on TNT Sports. Those in the United States can do so on ESPN+.
Ahead of their July 27 clash, Joyce and Chisora spoke at a final press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.
Joe Joyce vs. Derek Chisora Press Conference Highlights
Joe Joyce
“I’m really excited,” said Joyce. “It’s been a long time. It’s been a lot of years. I was going to fight him a lot earlier, but, I was very surprised when the fight was announced for me [that] I was actually going to fight Chisora so I jumped on the opportunity because I think our stars will mesh very well. I’m coming for all the action and all the glory.”
Derek Chisora
“It’s going to be very emotional,” said Chisora. “This is a farewell dance party for me at the O2 Arena. I think my whole career I know I was with Frank [Warren]. [The] beginning of my career, Frank with Dean Powell…It’s a sad day for me, that on Saturday. It’s hard to explain because I love the O2 so much and what a way to go out at the O2 with fighting Joe Joyce. But I can guarantee you this: If you watch the Dillian Whyte fight one, this will be better than that. This is what I’m trying to explain to you this is going to be better than that. It’s going to be unbelievable so don’t even sit down. Just stay standing up because I’m going to come and find my man. I’m excited.”
Fight Prediction
Chisora has been a professional boxer for over 15 years. While he and Joyce are not that far apart in age, Chisora has much more mileage on him and that should be a significant factor in this clash. The “Juggernaut” will also have a huge height and reach advantage over his opponent. Expect this fight to go into the later rounds due to Chisora’s braveness. Joyce by late stoppage.
