Terence Crawford Discusses Canelo Undercard, Calls Potential Fight ‘Dope’

Terence Crawford has sat near the top of many pound-for-pound lists since the one-sided beatdown he delivered against Errol Spence Jr. “Bud” is expected to return to action in September and face unified super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez who will fight on May 3 against William Scull in the first contest of his four-fight deal with Riyadh Season. Ahead of the expected Canelo-Crawford mega clash, the Omaha native has spoken to The Ring Magazine and teased he would like to see Gervonta Davis vs Shakur Stevenson on the undercard.

One of the most interested spectators for Canelo-Scull will be “Bud” Crawford. If Alvarez wins on May 3, its expected a mega-fight with Crawford will be formally announced.

Should Canelo defeat Scull, he will be crowned undisputed super middleweight king once again, adding another layer of intrigue to the likely clash with “Bud.” This fight has already captured the attention of the boxing world, but when Crawford spoke to The Ring he mentioned that he would like to see Gervonta Davis vs Shakur Stevenson on the undercard, which would be a great complement to the main event.

“I don’t know [about the undercard]. It’s going to be crazy. It should be crazy,” Crawford said.

“That would be dope (Davis vs Stevenson). If Tank was not so cocky to be on a Terence Crawford undercard, that would be dope. But I don’t see Tank taking a backseat to any fighter because he will think it’s the Tank show. So I don’t know. But it should be a good undercard.”
